Let's get together, eat pizza, and hear from local companies and experts in the field. This week we will hear from Dima Lisin who is Senior Principal Robotics Research Scientist at iRobot. IRobot is know for it's Roombas, the automatic vacuum cleaners.

Many of you in computer vision know how challenging mapping(SLAM) can be. Imagine doing it on a device with incredibly constrained compute resources, in an environment where the objects move. Hear Dima Lisin talk about Life Long Mapping on the Roomba.

The meeting location is at Draper, near Kendall Square. The entrance is on Broadway, between Hampshire Street and Galileo Way. (NOT THE MAIN DRAPER ENTRANCE!).

Agenda:
6:00 - 6:30: Networking & Pizza.
6:30 - 7:20: Speakers:

  1. Dima Lisin, Senior Principal Scientist at IRobot.

7:20 - 7:30: 1 min pitches from audience. Need help? Looking for a job? Let us know.
7:30 on: More networking.

Parking: Parking is street parking or garage. There are a lot of meters nearby. The nearest garage is the Technology Square Garage, however the garages at 1 Broadway, 358 Kendall St, and 1 Memorial Dr (under the Microsoft NERD building) have much better rates after 5pm. (Please do not park in Draper employee parking.)
