Description: A moderate paced hike up Cadot, Harriskat and Thumbs Down Trails including stops at the summits of Skatutakee and Thumb Mountains to take in the views. The route travels through the beautiful forested property managed by the Harris Center for Conservation.
Note - Car Spot : This hike requires a “car spot” due to the limited parking at Cadot Trail trailhead. We will meet at a location near the trailhead, and then consolidate into a few cars to travel to the trailhead which is located on a dirt road.
This hike has a total elevation gain of about 1,500 ft and about 8 miles . The route includes a few steep inclines and requires navigating up and down steep rock slabs.
Plan to be out for about 6+ hours depending on the pace of the group (which can vary). The hike leaders cannot guarantee the hike will be completed by any specific time.
Required Experience : For this trip, hikers must be comfortable navigating up and down difficult steep paths covered in loose rock, roots and gravel, stream crossings and steep rock slab. Hikers must have recently completed a hike of 8 miles with an elevation gain of at least 1,300 ft.
When registering for this hike please provide info about the hikes you have completed recently which are similar and include the dates of those hikes (this information helps the hike leaders process your registration)
