Description: Join AMC Boston Family Outings group for a late summer hike over Welch and Dickey mountains. This stunning hike is on the ‘52 With a View’ hiking list, and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains (weather permitting). We will hike this loop counterclockwise, and total mileage is approximately 4.5 miles with 1,800 feet of elevation gain. This hike is appropriate for experienced hikers ages 10+ who are comfortable with steep exposed ledges and scrambling at times (using hands as well as feet). Expect an early start that morning, and we can anticipate being on the trail for 4-6 hours including breaks. Leaders will reschedule this hike if the ledges are wet, or rain/thunderstorms are in the forecast.
