Description: Join us for a scenic summer day hike to the summit of Hedgehog Mountain, a 52 WAV peak. Given a clear day, we will enjoy beautiful views from the summit, as well as from several viewpoints along the way. On our loop, we’ll stop at ledges to try and spot nearby peaks such as the Tripyramids, Passaconaway, Chocorua, and more.
We will travel 4.7 miles with 1,400 ft of elevation gain. We will pass over sections of steep, rocky trails (both ascending and descending), where participants will be expected to be comfortable with the careful footing required. This route may also require several small brook crossings.
The difficulty of this hike is Moderate. Our pace will be on the slower side of moderate, allowing us to enjoy the scenery. We will stay together as a group, taking breaks as needed, and a longer break near the summit for lunch. Very rainy/stormy weather will cancel the hike.
Participants are expected to have similar hiking experience. After registration, a leader will contact you to confirm required gear and experience to ensure a good fit for the hike.
Once confirmed for the hike, participants will receive information regarding exact start time and meeting location.
