Description: Join us for a beautiful hike up Mt Cube. We will follow the Cross Rivendell Trial and hike first to the south peak followed shortly after by the north peak where we’ll stop for lunch. Both peaks offer fantastic views. Highlights from the south peak are views of Smarts mountain and Mt Cardigan while the north peak offers views of Baker River Valley and Mt Moosilauke. Our hike will be approximately 5.0 miles in length with an elevation gain of about 1600ft. We plan to hike at a steady but relaxed pace (1-1.5mph) that allows everyone the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful nature around us.
Gear list: Required: Hiking boots or hiking shoes Multiple layers of non-cotton clothing Rain jacket At least 2 liters of water Lunch and snacks Headlamp Any required personal medications Recommended: Sun protection (sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, etc.) Insect repellent and/or bug net Hand sanitizer Hiking poles (if you use them)
Carpooling : A Google Sheet will be shared for participants to offer and request rides for the trip. Carpooling is good for the environment and is a great way to meet other volunteers! It is up to each person to find their own ride.
Weather : In the event of heavy rain or other significant adverse weather conditions, this activity may be postponed or canceled.
