Description: Join us for a moderate-paced 13-mile hike to the summit of Carter Dome (4,832 ft), South Carter, and Middle Carter with 4498 feet of elevation gain. Depending on conditions, we expect the hike to take between 8 and 10 hours to complete, possibly finishing with headlamps.Leaders will update gear list before the hike, but we will need to treat the hike as winter hike so please check the gear listhere: https://hb.amcboston.org/images/docs/Gear_lists/Winter_Dayhike_equip.pdf
As the hike will start early in the morning, we will stay at the AMC Harvard Cabin on Friday nights, located at 862 NH-16, Jackson, NH 03846. This is a heated, self-service cabin with a full kitchen. Guests need to bring their own sleeping system and food. The lodging cost is $40 per person per night and does not include food. Also, leaders are planning to hike Wildcat Mtn. on Sunday. If participants cancel before November 15, 2026, a refund will be issued. For cancellations between November 16 and November 20, no refunds will be issued. If the trip or event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, a refund may or may not be issued. All refund requests should be directed to the trip leaders via email. Please note that refund processing may take up to two weeks after the trip or event concludes.
