Presentation: Shared experiences

Details
Hi everyone,
January has been crazy for me, so I missed scheduling a meetup for that month. In any case, we will try and more than make up for it in February.
Michael Coulombe has graciously agreed to share a presentation on shared. No, that's not a typo, it's a keyword!
This will be a short talk about his experiences with D and a discussion of D's shared feature. From Michael: "I'll go over the details of the shared type qualifier, how I effectively leveraged it and other D features to build a concurrent data structure, and what I learned about how well D worked or could work better in this design space."
Besides being a regular attendee at D meetups (when he's not home in California), Michael is a Ph.D. student at MIT studying concurrent data structures and parallel algorithms from both a theoretical and practical point of view. Michael brings with him experience using other high- and low-level languages (like Java/C/C++/Python/Prolog) as well as courses on design, compilers and program analysis.
