Boston FileMaker Developers Meeting

Thank you for your interest in the Boston Area FileMaker Developers Association, we look forward to you attending the meeting!

This months meeting will be held April 26th from 3 pm to 5:30 pm and will cover a mix of different topics! Mike Zarin will be presenting on a list of interesting techniques he's put together and take us through one (or several) of them. We will be looking for the attendees to pick from the list of topics and we can dive in further!

Chris Hancock from Tertl Consulting will also be presenting and giving us a look under the hood of a system he has developed.

How do you take a substantial internal system and make it available to a large external audience? For an econometrics company that maintains a large database of industry activity and is constantly expanding its repertoire of analyses, FileMaker’s flexibility and scriptability are vital. But when it comes to providing widespread access to thousands of busy customers, more conventional development tools sometimes have advantages. This under-the-hood presentation will survey the highlights of the technical side of a newly deployed hybrid system that combines FileMaker (for in-house maintenance and research) with SQL/Java/React! (for external user access).
