This will be our inaugural Boston Area Pharmaceutical Statistics and Data Science Group Meetup, held at Alkermes in Waltham, MA. The meetup will feature two presentations as follows:
Brief overview of the new Boston Area Pharmaceutical Statistics and Data Science Group - Presented by Jerald S. Schindler, DrPH - Organizer of the Boston Area Pharmaceutical Statistics and Data Science Group and VP, Biostatistics at Alkermes, Inc.
Dr. Schindler will first present an overview of this new Meetup group: Boston Area Pharmaceutical Statistics and Data Science Group. This presentation will also be followed by Q&A. The discussion will include the goals and objectives of the group and also potential areas for future discussion and collaboration.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Jerald Schindler leads the global Biostatistics and SAS
programming groups at Alkermes. These groups are responsible for
the design and analysis of all clinical trials at Alkermes. Earlier Dr.
Schindler was VP and Global Head of Late Development Statistics at
Merck Research Labs and was Chief Biostatistician at Wyeth Research.
Dr. Schindler received BS and MS degrees from Georgetown
University and DrPH in Biostatistics from UNC, Chapel Hill.

Use of Artificial Intelligence to Support Drug Development - Presented by Mary Jo Lamberti, PhD - Associate Director of Sponsored Research, Research Assistant Professor, Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development
Dr. Lamberti will present the results from a study conducted by the Tufts CSDD on the applications and use of Artificial Intelligence to support drug development. Following Dr. Lamberti’s presentation will be Q&A with the audience.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Mary Jo Lamberti is the manages multi-sponsored and grant funded
research projects at Tufts CSDD. She has extensive experience
conducting market research on pharmaceutical industry practices and
trends affecting contract research organizations and investigative
sites. Dr. Lamberti holds a BA from Wellesley College and a PhD in
psychology from Boston University.
