How to Build Shiny Apps People Actually Use

Details

One of the most frustrating feelings for a Shiny app developer is to spend a tremendous amount of time on an app and then get an email from your stakeholder with a request like "Can we move a dialogue box slightly to the left" or "Can we make this blue box more cerulean?" It's best to deal with these picayune requests earlier during the requirements process so you can spend the majority of your time coding and not UX designing. Nate Mockler will go over how to easily create wireframes of your shiny app during the requirements process without becoming a UX designer.

Speaker Bio:

Nate is a Sr. Data Scientist at Biogen, specifically creating analytics and interactive visualizations to analyze and explore clinical data. He has previously worked in analytics at Boehringer Ingelheim, Alexion Pharmaceuticals, and PRO Unlimited. He has presented at such conferences at PharmaSUG, PhUSE, and the Greater Boston UseR Group. He has passions for data visualizations and sushi, but has not figured out how to combine them yet.
