Let’s play trivia at McCarthy’s/Toad

McCarthy’s is a fairly new venue for Stump trivia and therefore a fairly new venue for our group. For those have been in the area for awhile this location was previously Christopher’s. It is directly across the street from the Porter Square T station. Your diversity of knowledge will enable an enjoyable evening for all. As we play trivia this diversity also makes for fun and interesting conversations.

Trivia is the same Stump Trivia we have been playing elsewhere. Trivia both starts and ends 30 minutes earlier than our previous Tuesday venues.

Trivia scoring is wireless; answer slips are so 2010s! It is helpful to take notes of upcoming categories; both to discuss answers with team members and also to decide how many points to bet. Some people prefer to use the notepad on their phone; some people prefer to use pen & paper; bring your choice.

Trivia is from 7:30-9:30. Please arrive by 7:00 to eat, and socialize; we might not be able to hold a seat after that. McCarthy’s will not give us individual checks so please be prepared to pay by Zelle, PayPal, CashApp, or green folding cash; not Venmo. If your plans change please update your RSVP. It is both difficult and socially awkward to try to hold seats for people who may or may not materialize. Have fun putting your random knowledge to work!

Trivia: A restaurant menu is usually the dirtiest thing in a restaurant. Please wash your hands after ordering. It’s good practice to do that even if you don’t use the plastic menu.

For those driving, please allow extra time for parking. If there are no spaces in front on Massachusets Ave. try going north on Massachusets Ave. You are more likely to find a space north than south. The next best place is Somerville Avenue. If you drive a little up Massachusets Ave. and a little down Somerville Ave and can’t find parking, run into the bar. I will have 1 or 2 Cambridge Resident Parking permits that allow you to park on residential streets 2 or 3 blocks from the bar. Some parking meters charge until 8:00 PM so if necessary please pay for until 8:00. Do NOT park in the CVS/Star Market across Mass. Ave. You will be towed.
