Let’s play trivia at the Burren

If you have not received both a COVID & a Flu vaccine in the past 13 months please get one at least two weeks prior to this event. Please see the more detailed message about this at the end of this event listing.

The Burren is an Irish Pub in Davis Square. It has an excellent beer selection, better food than most Irish pubs, and great vegetarian & vegan options! Your diversity of knowledge will enable an enjoyable evening for all. As we play trivia this diversity also makes for fun and interesting conversations.

Trivia scoring is wireless; answer slips are so 2010s! It is helpful to take notes of upcoming categories; both to discuss answers with team members and also to decide how many points to bet. Some people prefer to use the notepad on their phone; some people prefer to use pen & paper; bring your choice. Please arrive by 7:15 to eat, drink, and socialize; we might not be able to hold a seat after that. The Burren will not give us individual checks so please be prepared to pay by Zelle, PayPal, Cash, or CashApp. If you only have Venmo you can use it to pay by PayPal because PayPal is the parent company of Venmo. If your plans change please update your RSVP. It is both difficult and socially awkward to hold seats for people who may not materialize. Have fun putting your random knowledge to work!

The American Medical Association, The Massachusetts Department of Public Health and numerous other organizations recommend adults 18-64 get an annual COVID vaccine & an annual Flu vaccine. Everyone needs to have received them within the previous 13 months and at least 2 weeks before an event. The reason for 13 months rather than 12 is if anyone has insurance that only pays for these every 12 months they have flexibility. If you do not have insurance coverage for these, The City of Boston & some other cities have free vaccine clinics, no health insurance or ID required.

Everyone is encouraged to wash their hands after handling the menu. You don’t know about the previous half dozen people who touched it. The menu is one of the dirtiest things in a restaurant.

The locations where we have events are not under the control of the organizers, it is not possible to be certain all participants have complied, and these precautions are not 100% effective. By attending events you accept the risk that you might catch COVID, the flu, or other communicable diseases. |

For those driving, if there are no meters in front, try the municipal lot on Holland St. or further up Holland Street.
