What we’re about
Are you a woman who loves to read and talk about short stories and wish you had a book club with like-minded women? Do the names Roxane Gay, Shirley Jackson, Grace Paley, Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, George Saunders, Amy Hempel, Deesha Philyaw, Tony Tulathimutte, and countless other short story writers get your heart pumping? Love to read but finding it hard to commit to a full length novel? Look no further! This short story book club is for you.
This book group is for anyone who identifies as a woman or nonbinary. We will meet virtually via Zoom for 90 minutes beginning in February 2026 (stories to be discussed for the first half of the year are noted below). We will generally read and discuss 2-3 stories from a given collection each month. Group moderator is a published short story writer with an MFA in creative writing and avid fan of the form.
