Common Workflow Language Tutorial and Hackathon

We're hosting an all-day Common Workflow Language (CWL) meetup on January 25th! This event is open to anyone interested in learning about and using CWL - beginners and experienced users alike. The goals are to introduce newcomers to CWL, then split into small groups and work on share topics of interest. These topics can range from improving CWL internals, using CWL for specific applications, documenting and improving CWL or building infrastructure around existing workflows. Bring a laptop and your interest in working together.
The rough outline for the day is:
9am-10am Introduction to CWL
10am-12pm Organize into projects and split into small working groups based on interests
12pm-1pm Lunch (provided)
1pm Updates from working groups
1pm-5pm Continue working in groups
5pm Summary updates from project teams

The Common Workflow Language (CWL) is a specification for describing
analysis workflows and tools in a way that makes them portable and scalable across a variety of software and hardware environments, from workstations to cluster, cloud, and high performance computing (HPC) environments. CWL is designed to meet the needs of data-intensive science, such as Bioinformatics, Medical Imaging, Astronomy, Physics, and Chemistry.
