OpenTofu Thriving: Ecosystem Update

Details

This month, Asaf and Andrew of env0 will provide an update on the OpenTofu project, fork of Terraform, infrastructure-as-code megasaurus. Since last September's meetup with Ohad Maislish, a lot has happened in the terraformed landscape which overlaps SRE, security, and cloud ops work. On Thursday, they will present:

  • Summary: what, why and how of OpenTofu
  • Project goals, principles, plans and contribution model
  • Migration now? OpenTofu features and compatibility with Terraform configurations, providers, and modules
  • OpenTofu adoption and impact of IBM acquisition

Then we will discuss in roundtable what these changes may mean for practitioners, implementers, and managers.
