Lightning Talks Theme: Distributions

One of the big benefits of Drupal is the ability to create and distribute custom distributions. Groups of modules, themes and libraries that can be used to deliver full featured solutions or quick starts for site builders. This month we want learn about using Drupal distributions for Drupal projects.

Potential lightning talk topics:

• Favorite community Drupal distributions for Drupal 8 or Drupal 7.

• Tips for how to use distributions in projects.

• Examples of creating custom distributions, or install profiles.

• Examples of projects that have started distributions

• Benefits and caveats when using Distributions

Volunteers get between 5 to 10 minutes to present a talk, question or presentation. No need to be prepared in advance.

Dries is in back in Boston!

Dries Buytaert, the founder of Drupal, is back in our hometown wants to catch up with some friendly faces of Boston’s local Drupal community at the September meet up Dries will give a short, informal talk on the rising popularity of Drupal Distributions on Lighting, Q&A and will then mingle for a couple of hours. This is a great chance to share a beer and a slice with Dries.

Location:Acquia

This month, Acquia will play host to the meetup, moving to the 10th floor of Exchange Place in Downtown Boston. Registration is required to get into the building for security purposes, please have a valid photo ID to get into the building.

Acquia’s community space holds up to 100 people. This should be enough to handle everyone who wants to come. However, there will no doubt be a lot of interest and numbers will be capped at this level. Please signup on this Meetup Event early to avoid disappointment, walk-ins cannot be guaranteed accommodation.

Acquia’s HQ is conveniently located at the State Street stop of the Blue and Orange Lines, and >10 mins walk from Downtown Crossing, Haymarket, North and South T Stations.
