Circling: an Interpersonal Meditative Experience

Details

Join Joel Tenenbaum for an evening of Circling! Circling is the practice of being with people, sharing and staying present with your live embodied experience and reactions to others. It is a meditation practice where your focus is on direct perceptions or sensations, especially in relation to others (e.g. "Hearing your experience of loneliness, I feel soft toward you.") instead of on focusing on another object such as the breath. The emphasis is on feeling what happens in your body instead of habitually reacting to it.

A session of Circling is called a "Circle" and lasts typically between 30 and 45 minutes. In this session, we'll start with warm-up exercises and explanations about the practice, followed by 2 or 3 Circles.

No experience necessary!
