About us

Welcome to the Boston Generative AI Meetup!

Founded in 2023 and now more than 6,600 members strong, the Boston Generative AI Meetup is one of the country’s largest in-person communities focused on AI.

We gather roughly every six weeks at venues across Greater Boston for substantive conversations, practical learning, and meaningful connections around the technologies changing how people build, work, create, and lead.

Our community brings together founders, executives, engineers, researchers, investors, academics, creators, designers, artists, students, and people who are simply curious about what AI makes possible.

We explore the full generative AI landscape: frontier and open-weight models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Meta, DeepSeek, Alibaba’s Qwen, Moonshot’s Kimi, and others; image, video, voice, and music generation; coding assistants; autonomous AI agents and MCP-connected systems; and the infrastructure, governance, safety, evaluation, and operating practices required to move AI from experimentation into dependable real-world use.

Every meetup is different, but here is what you can expect:

  1. Expert Talks: Presentations from leading researchers, practitioners, founders, executives, and investors on new capabilities, real-world deployments, and emerging business opportunities.
  2. Cross-Disciplinary Panels: Candid conversations about how AI is changing business, creativity, careers, education, products, and everyday life.
  3. Practical Demonstrations and Workshops: Opportunities to see new tools in action and, at selected events, work with them directly. Bring your laptop when the event listing recommends it.
  4. Networking and Collaboration: Meet people across Boston’s AI ecosystem, exchange ideas, and build valuable relationships. Companies, co-founders, customers, hires, and partnerships have all begun in this community.

Who Should Attend:
Anyone interested in generative AI and its impact. You may be building AI systems, leading adoption inside an organization, conducting research, launching a company, investing, designing, creating, studying, or simply beginning to explore the field.
You do not need to be an AI expert to participate.
Curiosity and a willingness to contribute are enough.

The Boston Generative AI Meetup is also a flagship community event of Boston AI Week. The 2026 core festival week runs September 24 through October 2, bringing together companies, universities, startups, investors, researchers, public leaders, and communities from across Massachusetts and beyond.

Join us for a special Boston AI Week edition of the Boston Generative AI Meetup exploring the festival’s 2026 theme: AI in Business and in Life.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly moving beyond experimentation and into everyday reality. It is changing how companies operate, how products are built, how people work, and how decisions are made. It is also reshaping how we learn, create, communicate, and live.

Where is AI creating measurable value today? What remains mostly hype? What happens as AI agents and increasingly capable systems become part of our businesses and our daily lives? And what should leaders, builders, investors, and individuals be thinking about now?

We’ll bring together founders, executives, investors, technologists, researchers, students, and business leaders for an evening examining AI from both sides of the equation: what it means for business and what it means for people.

Whether you are building AI, deploying it within an organization, investing in it, studying it, using it every day, or simply trying to understand what comes next, this event is an opportunity to learn, exchange ideas, and make meaningful connections with one of the world’s largest in-person AI communities during Boston AI Week.

What We’ll Explore

The conversation will span the rapidly evolving intersection of AI, business, technology, and everyday life, including:

  • Where businesses are creating measurable value from AI today
  • AI agents, automation, and the changing nature of work
  • How AI is reshaping products, services, and customer experiences
  • Building and scaling AI-native companies
  • What investors are seeing across the next generation of AI startups
  • The impact of AI on careers, education, creativity, and entrepreneurship
  • How people are incorporating AI into their everyday lives
  • Trust, governance, security, privacy, and responsible deployment
  • What remains overhyped—and what may still be underestimated
  • Where AI could take business and society next

Featured Panel: AI in Business and in Life

Hear from leading investors, founders, executives, technologists, and AI practitioners during a wide-ranging conversation about where AI is creating real value, how it is changing organizations and people’s lives, and what may come next.

Featured Panelists:

Chip Hazard, Co-Founder & General Partner, Flybridge
Experienced. Thoughtful. Technical. Entrepreneurial. Prescient.
Chip has spent decades investing in and helping build consequential technology companies. He brings the perspective of an experienced venture investor to the extraordinary wave of company creation and technological change now being driven by artificial intelligence.

Murph Vandervelde, Chief of Staff, Blitzy
Technical. Curious. Bold. Forward-looking.
Murph joins us from Cambridge-based Blitzy, which is building an autonomous software development platform designed to take complex software projects from architecture through production code. Blitzy has been pushing the boundaries of agentic software development, including ambitious autonomous code-generation and modernization projects.

Additional panelists will be announced soon.

Special Tech Talk: John Huehn, Chief of Pega Launchpad
Technical. Entrepreneurial. Innovative. Product-driven.
John Huehn is Chief of Pega Launchpad, where he is helping shape how the next generation of AI-powered enterprise software gets built and scaled.

John will share how Launchpad helps companies move from idea to production faster by combining AI-assisted development with workflow automation, integrations, security, governance, and enterprise-grade infrastructure.

Special Presentation: Jenn Azar, CEO, Stellix — Meet Stella
Visionary. Innovative. Entrepreneurial. Transformative.
Jenn Azar, CEO of Stellix, will introduce us to Stella, Stellix’s Boston Dynamics Spot robot, and demonstrate how physical AI and robotics are moving from experimentation into real-world industrial applications.

Stella is much more than a robot dog. Stellix is using her to explore the future of autonomous operations, including visual inspections, data capture, equipment monitoring, autonomous navigation, and integration with manufacturing systems. Jenn will share what Stellix has learned by putting emerging technology to work in the real world and what human-machine collaboration could look like as AI increasingly moves beyond software and into the physical world.

About Stellix

Stellix helps organizations in complex industries turn strategy into execution by keeping systems, technology, and teams aligned as conditions change. Its work spans digital transformation, automation, data, AI, and Industry 4.0, with deep expertise in highly regulated manufacturing environments.

Stellix works with organizations to move emerging technologies beyond pilots and into scalable, real-world operations — connecting technology with the architecture, governance, processes, and people required to deliver measurable outcomes.
