Machine Learning is transforming how we build software, and Google Cloud is at the forefront of this revolution. Join GDG Annapolis for a rigorous, 10-week structured study group designed to take you from a practitioner to a Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer.
This isn't just a reading group—it’s a collaborative environment designed to help you master the design, build, and productionizing of ML models at scale.
Why Join This Study Group?
The "Professional ML Engineer" exam is one of Google’s most challenging certifications, covering everything from framing ML problems to complex MLOps. To help you succeed, we are providing:
Weekly Deep Dives: Meet every Thursday to review core exam domains, clarify complex topics, and solve sample problems together.
Discord Communities: Gain access to a private Discord server where we will organize smaller "squads" for peer-to-peer accountability and support.
Curated Resource Packs: Receive custom-built study aids including NotebookLM summaries, distilled notes, and hands-on lab guides.
The Ultimate Incentive: Participants who consistently attend and complete the study milestones will be eligible for free exam vouchers (limited supply, provided upon request/completion).
10-Week Roadmap at a Glance
Week 1-2: ML Problem Framing & Architecting Low-Code Solutions (BigQuery ML & AutoML).
Week 3-4: Data Engineering for ML: Preprocessing, Feature Engineering, and Feature Store.
Week 5-6: Model Development: Custom Training on Vertex AI (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
Week 7-8: MLOps & Orchestration: Vertex AI Pipelines, CI/CD for ML, and Model Registry.
Week 9: Serving & Monitoring: Scaling predictions and detecting model drift.
Week 10: Final Review: Practice exams, "Responsible AI" strategies, and voucher distribution.
Who Should Attend?
Developers/Engineers looking to specialize in MLOps and production-grade AI.
Data Scientists who want to master the infrastructure side of Google Cloud.
Students aiming to enter the workforce with a high-value, professional-level certification.
Requirements
Basic familiarity with Python and SQL.
Commitment to ~5 hours of independent study per week.
