Special Meetup: Julian Arni on Servant
Details
Hi All, On November 4th at 7pm we're going to have an off-schedule meetup at Localytics (not at Akamai!). It's very important that you RSVP here if you want to come - I'll give details below. But first, we have a really nice talk scheduled.
7:30: Julian Arni - Servant - A type level DSL for web APIs
For Servant, a web framework is just an interpreter of a DSL for describing web APIs. We'll see the benefits this approach confers, in terms of clarity, succinctness and safety. We'll also see other interpretations that are possible of this same DSL, which provide client functions in a variety of languages, documentation, mock servers, and other things.

Logistics: I need to put everyone's name on the guest list, so if you plan on coming, please RSVP and/or email me your first and last name. Location: Localytics is at 101 Arch St, but the main entrance is on Summer St. across from Macy's. Once inside, take the escalator up to the next floor, and visit the security desk. Myself or one of my coworkers will be there to let people in. We'll then take the elevator up to the 8th floor. We'll start at 7:30 to wait for people who have trouble finding us.
Food and Free Beer: We'll have pizzas, and we have 4 kegs in the office :)
Other info: Localytics is a nice space that we can use for lots of different types of events like off-schedule meetups, Haskell coding and/or teaching sessions, office hours, etc. It will be great for people to come and see, and get ideas on how we could utilize it.
