Mr. Muhsin at MFA

This film is part of the MFA's annual Turkish Film Festival.

Mr. Muhsin (Muhsin Bey) directed by Yavuz Turgul (1987, 98 min.).

Şener Şen stars as Muhsin Kanadikirik, a solitary middle-aged music producer who is approached by a young man named Nazik (Uğur Yücel) who dreams of becoming a folk singer. Hesitant at first, Muhsin eventually takes Nazik under his wing and makes him a star. Mr. Muhsin was voted one of the Ten Best Turkish Films of all time by the Ankara Cinema Association.

Uğur Yücel may join us for a Q&A following the screening if his schedule allows. The screening will be followed by the BTFF Excellence in Turkish Cinema Award ceremony, and a reception at Taste Café musical guests The Çay Party.
