What we’re about
We are a group of movie fans that get together frequently to watch movies in the Boston area. We see lots of different kinds of movies.
It is our custom to go out to a nearby restaurant afterwards for some munchies and conversation. Although on the rare instances when we have a movie event in the middle of the week...we might skip the after event because of the whole getting up early the next day thing.
The group's organizers do have a favor to ask - if you RSVP "yes" to an event, please do come, or change your RSVP to "no".
Come on out! Treat yourself to a movie and a lively discussion! We love movies and if you do too, come and join us!

All You Need is Kill
Landmark Kendall Square, 355 Binney Street, Cambridge, MA, USAll You Need Is Kill
--- Trailer ---
This anime is sourced from the same novel as Edge of Tomorrow, the Tom Cruise/Emily Blunt time loop alien invasion movie. I like seeing different versions of the same story, and this looks like a nice, proper violent anime, so let's go see it!
Enough details changed between the All You Need Is Kill novel and Edge of Tomorrow that I wasn't sure of the connection between the two.
The movie time is an estimate. When we get closer to the date I will update this listing with the exact time and place. We will probably be seeing this at Kendall Square Cinema, but that could change if the movie is not showing there.
Meeting the Group
We gather in the hallway outside of the theater we just saw the movie in, to discuss the film a bit, allow for restroom breaks and to get a head count of all those who would like to go out after for drinks and munchies. I will be checking the comments for this event in the meetup app on my phone. Just to repeat: we gather in the hallway outside of the theater we just saw the movie in.4 attendees

I am a huge Sam Rockwell fan; I love all the films he's in. This one looks especially wacky. I am wondering if Rockwell will be able to sneak in his signature dance moves somehow.
Synopsis from IMDB: A "Man From the Future" arrives at a diner in Los Angeles where he must recruit the precise combination of disgruntled patrons to join him on a one-night quest to save the world from the terminal threat of a rogue artificial intelligence

Super Mario Galaxy
Landmark Kendall Square, 355 Binney Street, Cambridge, MA, USSuper Mario Galaxy
--- Trailer ---
We had an event for the first Mario movie, and it was a fun time! That film is a simple but charming children's film with some nods to the games, and I suspect the sequel will be more of the same.
I am a little curious though how this movie is going to handle the character of Rosalina. Warning I am going to get nerdy here. So Rosalina has a complicated and I feel tragic origin story that is so much more than the usual two word descriptions of the Mario characters like "Mario's brother", "evil Mario", and "demon turtle".
Rosalina decided, as a child, to go on an adventure into outer space, but then could not find her way back, and never did. She was permanently cut off from her home and family. She then decided to become a nurturing mother figure for other child like beings who were around her out there in outer space, and eventually becomes the beloved, well adjusted, magical space princess adult that helps Mario with his space rescue mission.
It's glossed over in the games, but that story seems like potential nightmare fuel. I mean, to her family Rosalina just disappeared. What's going to happen in the movie?
Probably it will be something kind of boring - but I can hope!
