MS Access was extraordinary in its time. Locked inside a single .accdb file, you’ll often find an entire business‑critical application — data, logic, and decades of lived experience.
In this one‑hour session, we’ll take an example Access application and use GitHub Copilot to surface its structure, relationships, and intent.

From there, we’ll show how AI can help accelerate the creation of a modern, multi‑tier, cloud‑native solution. Our plan is to build out an Azure‑ready architecture — including a React front end, a .NET API, Azure SQL, and a containerized, Dapr‑enabled backend — and deploy it using today’s Azure tooling. And yes, we’ll attempt to do it live.

This isn’t about perfection; it’s about possibility. You’ll see how AI can reduce friction, speed up modernization, and turn a legacy artifact into a cloud‑forward application far faster than traditional approaches.

Presenters: Jim Wilcox, AI Architect with Nimble Gravity and Microsoft MVP in Developer Technologies and David Finn, Principal of Pawtuckaway Solutions, both regulars on Granite State Code Review Nightly.

This will be a preview of our upcoming Boston Code Camp session.
