StateCharts for complex flows (might be the right tool for the job), with Cris Oliveira (Principal Software Engineer @ Kyruus)
Sometimes you need a statemachine. And most of the times a statemachine becomes too complex to handle. That's where statecharts come in. The original paper defined statecharts as “A visual formalism for complex systems” (Harel, 1987). StateCharts are an improvement on statemachines and can be a useful tool for not just coding part but also to align stakeholders on a complex application flow.
Cris O is one of the engineers at Kyruus trying to help connect patients with an appropriate provider. Sometimes a patient may end up seeing the wrong provider or wait too long for an available appointment because of faulty scheduling systems. We're fixing that.

) talk about the whys and hows of building a framework.
Dan is a Sr Director of Engineering at Indigo Ag leading the build-out of Indigo’s Grain Marketplace: an app that connects farmers to numerous grain buyers, getting them more money for their hard work. Prior to moving to management, still at Indigo, Dan was a software architect getting Indigo set up inReact+TypeScript+GraphQL front-ends and Node+TypeScript+GraphQL back-ends. In his spare time, Dan enjoys contributing to open source, playing tennis and drinking wine.
