Welch Dickey Loop Trail is rated INTERMEDIATE; 4 Miles /1700 Ft Elevation Gain. This day trip is suitable for those with at least average fitness and physical activity levels. You'll burn about 400 to 600 calories on this hike at moderate pace.

COST: FREE. Carpool will cost $25 per person. ($10 per person for those who qualify - currently in college/grad school or within 5 years of graduating college)

CARPOOL: Limited number of carpool spots are available from Boston and Cambridge.

Plan:
7:30AM - Leave Boston/Cambridge with Carpool
9:30AM - Start hike. Take frequent breaks
1:00PM- Finish hike
1:30PM - Lunch in a restaurant in Thornton NH
3:00PM - Drive back to Boston/Cambridge

THINGS TO BRING: suitable clothing, water, shoes, snacks, layers.
SHOES SUITABLE FOR WINTER HIKING - "WATERPROOF" SHOES ARE REQUIRED, "INSULATED" ARE RECOMMENDED. You can find reasonably priced winter shoes from brands such as Merrell, Timberland, The North Face, Kamik, etc., for $40 to $90 at Marshall's (22 McGrath Hwy, Somerville), Macy's (450 Washington St, Boston), or David's Shoes On First (75 First St, Cambridge). We will bring CRAMPONS FOR EVERYONE in this group. If you have your own pair, please bring it on the hike.
