Get to know and care for a Food Forest

Details
Dear Greater Boston Permaculturists, Gardeners, Urban-farmers, Educators, Nature lovers
As the demonstration site of the Boston Food Forest Coalition we invite you to attend our monthly orientation of the Food Forest at the Boston Nature Center (BNC).
The Food Forest at the BNC is an 1½ acre site that was started in 2015 applying permaculture principle. It's still a 'work-in-process' and we are constantly designing new features to the site while trying to maintain the established parts of the forest.
The Orientation is an opportunity to get introduced to Permaculture, see a Food Forest in development and - for those interested - get some practical experience helping us build and maintain the site.
The first 30 minutes will include a tour of the site, introduction to how we are organized and how to get involved. After that - those that are interested can get their hands dirty helping us on projects in the food forest - this may include wedding, watering, planting...and don't forget eating plants!
All supplies including gloves will be provided. Please bring water and some clothes you don't mind getting dirty and be prepared to protect yourself again mosquitos and ticks.
After the Orientation you are more than welcome to join the energetic Stewardship Team that meets regularly to care for the site.
Looking forward welcoming you to our site.
