This meeting will be at Google offices in Cambridge MA. Further specifics will be shared soon.

Two topics to be presented:

  1. What’s new in PostgreSQL 18 - Shihao Zhong and Colin Florendo
  2. PostgreSQL and Gemini CLI - Heather White and Isabella Lubin

What’s new in PostgreSQL 18 - Shihao Zhong and Colin Florendo

Join Shihao and Colin as they present PostgreSQL 18, a landmark
release that delivers faster I/O performance through a new
Asynchronous I/O (AIO) subsystem. PG18 also includes significant
enhancements for modern server architectures, with better awareness
and optimization for NUMA (Non-Uniform Memory Access) systems to
improve scalability on high core count machines. Furthermore, it
introduces B-tree Skip Scan for smarter, more efficient query
planning, cementing its place as the fastest and most advanced
PostgreSQL to date.

PostgreSQL and Gemini CLI - Heather White and Isabella Lubin

Heather and Isabella will demo the new open source Gemini CLI
extensions that make building and managing PostgreSQL-powered
applications easier than ever using an AI agent directly from your
terminal.
