Janet McNamara is a Boston native whose idiosyncratic perspective and finely tuned joke writing have distinguished her as a captivating headlining act praised by Maria Bamford as “a fantastic comic with an amazing delivery and enviable timing of very unique material” while Bill Burr has shared clips of Janet's brilliant stand-up online. Her unbothered approach and plainspoken delivery have been featured on America’s Got Talent and American Idol (yes, really) and endeared her to audiences across the country. Janet has opened for Maria Bamford, Jessica Kirson and Eugene Mirman and performed at the Women in Comedy Festival, Asheville Comedy Festival, Rogue Island Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival, Big Sky Comedy Festival and Hampton Beach Comedy Festival. In 2025, she recorded sets for Don’t Tell Comedy and Cracked Comedy Club. Her debut comedy album;Not Smart Enough was be released by PGF Records in 2026.
