Genome Bridge is a new, non-profit startup that is building a cloud based platform for aggregating, processing and sharing genomic and clinical data on a global scale. We are developing the software infrastructure to store, process, analyze and interpret genomic (DNA) data in a secure, scalable fashion running across multiple public cloud providers. The platform will scale to handle hundreds of petabytes of data, requiring innovative solutions to optimize speed and cost.

We are building our platform using a host of modern technologies, including Scala as the programming language for building our scalable systems, public cloud infrastructure (AWS and Google), big data technologies and modern DevOps tools for CI in a virtualized environment (Chef/Jenkins/Vagrant/Docker).

At Genome Bridge, you will be part of a dynamic team that includes software engineers, computational biologists, medical geneticists and business people who are all passionate about applying next-generation DNA sequencing and big data approaches to medical genetics. As a member of a small development team, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in defining and implementing the Genome Bridge platform. You will be part of a highly visible effort that will have a substantial impact on health and medicine.

If this sounds like something you would get excited about, contact me through meetup or at egolin@genomebridge.org for more details.
