Self-Led Trip to Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - Sept. ’24

You will be going SOLO, or a small group.

I would Still be happy to ZOOM, with you to help
you guide your trip., including daily Zooms in Edinburgh.

One Week in Edinburgh, Budget remains good.
Mid-Week gives us best Air Fares, about $ 800 RT. now

Come cycle with us, OR just travel, without biking .
( some people add a week before or a week after, for a 2 week vacation)

We will make Edinburgh our Homebase, at a beautiful BnB, ( hopefully close to Edinburgh Castle), and then, do Day trips from there.
You choose some of the places that we will visit around Edinburgh. Weather will be a comfortable 50 degrees plus, perfect for cycling.
And not much Rain.

PLANNING MEETINGS - in July or August, we meet here in Boston, over Coffee and Cake, to chat and plan travel.
It is important to cycle with us, in Boston, a time or two, to get to know one another, before our trip to Scotland.
Join us, on a Charles River bike ride, on a Sunday at 10am.

BUDGET for Seven Days - $ 1900. including EVERYTHING. (you manage your exp’s, ). No money to me. Chip in $ 35. for Meetup web fees.
Airfare is up ! about $ 800. now ,( on Kayak.com, Onetravel.com, etc.)
BnB , $ 840. to $ 600. depending ...
3 - 4 separate rooms, mix twins and doubles.
Bike rental (optional ), $ 200., and food. $ 200. +

SKILLS NEEDED
An Adult who can cycle at a moderate pace can do the Ride. 10-12 mph, and do 30 miles a day, which leaves time for sight-seeing in each town.
Half flat riding, Half small hills. Day time riding only.

WHAT TO PACK ? ------ As little as Possible :-)
You can get by with nothing but a Backpack, or a couple of Bike bags.
We are Not Bike-Packing. Just a few nice day trips, from Edinburgh.

RIDE LEADER ( Me ) - I am an experienced cyclist, and know travel in Europe and Scotland well. I have done rides in Scotland before, and can provide lots of help with accommodation, airfare, and logistics.
