A bit about Benvenusa: Benvenusa was founded in 2023 by Bobby Stuckey MS, and Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson. Bobby and Lachlan have been business partners for 20 years since founding the iconic Michelin starred restaurant Frasca Food and Wine in Boulder, Colorado. Their passion for the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia is profound, having traveled to the region countless times, not only for regional inspiration but also for their wine company, Scarpetta, established in 2007. After years of great appreciation of the many small producers of the region, and assisting countless friends and importers with introductions to producers from the region, we decided to found Benvenusa. The mission of Benvenusa is to import small Italian producers who, for the most part, have never been imported into the U.S. These artisanal producers represent what we have always loved about Friuli — undiscovered Italy yet wines that cast a wide net of deliciousness and application. We hope that through our efforts, Benvenusa is able to bring greater awareness to the great region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and celebrate the next generation of winemakers emerging in the region. The portfolio now includes producers from Friuli Venezia Giulia, Slovenia and Tuscany who we believe are defining the next era of their regions. All artisanal, truly micro producers, that farm less than 10 hectares of vineyards, harvest by hand and are driven by an earnest desire to make serious, compelling wines.
