Winter Indoor Photography Workshop Series
·OnlineOnline### Indoor Winter Photo Workshop: Exploring the Familiar
Just because it’s cold out doesn’t mean your camera should sit still. This online workshop is all about finding beauty, meaning, and inspiration indoors. Over four sessions we’ll use light, color, shadow, and emotion to create new work at home. No travel required. Each session includes a photo critique, a creative lesson, and an assignment to keep you shooting in between. You don’t need fancy gear or a studio setup, just a willingness to see differently.
This year's workshop is focused on exploring the familiar. If you did this workshop any of the previous years, you don't need to worry about it being duplicative, everything we are doing is new.
During each session we’ll talk about fun things you can shoot in your house and techniques you can use to make unique photos. The techniques you practice indoors can then be applied when you are outside shooting.
You’ll have two weeks to complete an assignment, really it’s just a topic and suggestion of things to photograph around your home. Yes, it is ok to go outside and make images but you don't have to! After you complete each assignment, you’ll send one or two photos and get feedback during the next session. This isn’t a photo contest, getting feedback can be scary but it is a great way to expand your skills and it is a lot of fun to see what others did for their assignment.
Each session lasts two hours, it doesn’t matter your skill level, there will be beginners to advanced photographers.
Wednesdays, Jan. 28, February 18, March 4, March 18 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
### Session 1: Finding Magic in the Mundane
We start by slowing down and looking closer. You’ll learn how to make compelling images of things you usually walk right past. It’s about using your eye, not your gear, to bring ordinary scenes to life.
### Session 2: Photographing a Feeling
Photography isn’t just about what you see, it’s about what you feel. In this session we’ll explore how to use light, color, and composition to express emotion. Whether it’s calm, drama, tension, joy, or nostalgia, your challenge is to make the viewer feel something.
### Session 3: Shadows and Layers
We’ll explore how to create depth and mystery using shadows, reflections, and layers. You’ll learn to build images that invite viewers to look deeper and linger longer.
### Session 4: The Element of Surprise
Great photography isn’t about getting it right the first time, it’s about staying curious. We’ll work a single
Each session is via Zoom and will be recorded so you can watch later if you can’t make a live session.
Cost: $125 for the entire series. There are no refunds for partial participation.

Iceland Winter Photography Workshop
Reykjavík, ISThis is a paid workshop, please don't RSVP until you have registered at https://www.lorenphotos.com/product/iceland-winter-photography-workshop-2026/
An Iceland photography workshop is special any time of year but something magical happens in the winter. In seven memorable days we will chase the northern lights, explore an incredible ice cave, visit a spectacular glacial lagoon, walk a black sand beach littered with "ice diamonds," shoot fabulous waterfalls and much more.
Iceland is the ultimate destination to improve your photos or make the photos you have always dreamed about. Join professional photographer Loren Fisher for an exciting trip to Iceland, the land of photographic wonders.
Isn't it too cold in Iceland in February? It is hard to believe, but along the southern and western coast it doesn't get that cold because the ocean's gulf stream brings warm currents to Iceland keeping the temperature moderate. It may dip to the low 20's with highs in the 30's. Loren will give you plenty of advice on what to wear and what the conditions will be like before you go. It is likely to be colder in New York City than where we will be.
This will be Loren's 15th trip to Iceland since 2018, which means he will take you to unique locations that tourists don’t find on their own along with some of Iceland’s most famous sites. You'll be sure to come home with stunning photos and memories that will last a lifetime.
Like all of Loren’s destination workshops, we are there to make great photos, which means our itinerary is full and flexible. He will put you in the locations that give you the best opportunity for tremendous photos and offer any assistance you need. Hopefully we’ll have clear skies and have multiple occasions to see the northern lights dance across the sky!
There are many reasons why Iceland has become one of the world’s premier photography locations: the people are friendly and most speak English, the scenery is unmatched and the locations are unique.

Black & White Photography Workshop Series
·OnlineOnlineMaking a strong Black and White photo takes more than just clicking a button in Lightroom or changing a camera setting. It’s a way of seeing. A mindset that starts before you press the shutter and continues through editing and presentation.
In this online workshop, we’ll explore what it means to think in Black and White and how that can change the way you shoot. Over three live sessions, I’ll walk you through the essentials of making great monochrome images and help you build the skills and confidence to do it on your own.
I started out as a newspaper photographer and shot almost 7000 rolls of Black and White film before I ever used color. That background shaped how I see. I still look at a scene in Black and White first and then add color in my mind. It’s helped me develop a strong sense of graphic composition, and I’ll share how you can start seeing the world that way too.
Workshop Structure
- Three live online sessions, two hours each
- Weekly assignments to apply what you learn
- Group feedback and discussion on your images in the next session
- Lightroom editing demos that keep things simple and effective
What You’ll Learn
- How to visualize a scene in Black and White
- What makes a photo work in Black and White
- Using shape, line, light, shadow, and texture for impact
- Editing techniques in Lightroom to enhance your images
- How light affects mood in portraits and landscapes
- Why some color scenes fall flat when converted and how to avoid them
Who It’s For
This is for anyone who wants to take Black and White photography more seriously. Whether you’re just getting started or want to sharpen your skills, you’ll get clear guidance, personal support, and inspiration to keep growing.

Mondays - February 23, March 9 & 23
