Boston TypeScript meetup: Virtual this time!

Details

We're back! This time we'll be trying something new this time around: this meetup will be wholly virtual via Zoom. A link will be provided only after people RSVP. That said, I want to make it known that the following rules will be instituted:

  • Please make use of the "raise hand" feature in Zoom to make it known of your intention to ask a question.
  • Please be cognizant of other peoples' noise levels and mute your microphones after speaking.

For those of you that are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing, an American Sign Language interpreter will be provided.

We will be covering two topics: Creating a simple NextJS app with TypeScript and deploying to the Vercel platform, and a short primer on code-first GraphQL schema generation with NestJS (not to be confused with NextJS!) while following the CQRS (Command, Query, Responsibility, and Service) pattern. These talks will be given by Alex Hughes, and Scott Jones respectively.

Alex is a software engineer at EF Go Ahead Tours. When he isn't coding, he enjoys spending time in the outdoors, traveling and hanging out with his 10 month old son.

Scott is a Senior Software Engineer at EF Go Ahead Tours. He has been working wholly in Node.js for the past five years, and Node.js with TypeScript for the past three. Scott spends most of his free time playing video games and cooking.
