About us
The Boston Typewriter Collective is a local, in-person community for people interested in typewriters, typing, writing, and mechanical tools. (technically Greater Boston).
We have a physical location at Winsmith Mills, Norwood, MA
We gather to type together, share machines, talk shop, exchange ideas, and occasionally host type-ins, show-and-tell sessions, and small swap meets. Some members write fiction or essays, others keep journals or correspondence, and some are primarily collectors or restorers. Laptops may be welcome at some events, but the focus is on typewriters and analog tools.
This is not a productivity group or a writing workshop. There’s no pressure to publish, perform, or “finish” anything. The emphasis is on process, curiosity, and shared interest, not outcomes.
Bring a machine if you have one. If not, come anyway.
