Virtual April useR: Coronavirus Propagation Modeling

Details

April useR Meetup
Coronavirus Propagation Modeling led by Anton Antonov

Zoom Bridge: https://zoom.us/j/97001332978

In this (tutorial) presentation, Anton will:

  • Discuss the modeling and evolution of different scenarios of the coronavirus propagation and related decease
  • Overview classic compartmental models in epidemiology
  • Discuss the theory behind the System dynamics approach using simple examples
  • Discus philosophical, scientific, and mathematical justifications
  • Describe System dynamics' approaches of modeling the propagation of SARS-CoV-2 and the economic impact of COVID-19.

Bio:
Anton is an applied mathematician (PhD) with 28+ years of experience in algorithm development, scientific computing, mathematical modeling, natural language processing, combinatorial optimization, research and development programming, machine learning, and data mining.
In the last ten years, he focused on developing machine learning algorithms and workflows for different industries (music, movies, points of interests, recruiting, healthcare.) Currently, he is working on machine learning and data science applications to manufacturing (Industry 4.0.)
Anton is a former kernel developer of Mathematica.
