Boston VR Speaker Event - Jeffrey Jacobson, Ph.D - Immersive Design Systems
Details
---UPDATE---
We have an announcement to make. Unfortunately we’ve just received word that Prof Lindeman will be unable to attend. As this is last minute, instead of cancelling the event we will have Jeffrey Jacobson PH.D. give a talk on his simulation program at Children’s hospital. He will bring in some VR sets with the app loaded for attendees to get hands on!
Given the demands on senior staff and resources, training new nursing staff is always a challenge. To meet that demand, Immersive Design Systems (IDS) at Boston Children’s works with clinical experts to provide simulation based training throughout the hospital. Recently IDS has collaborated with clinical experts to build XR training solutions, and demand is ramping up quickly. In this talk, Jeffrey Jacobson, Ph.D., will describe the leading XR projects, the process of finding or creating solutions, and how they are increasing training capacity throughout the hospital. (Dr. Jacobson leads the XR efforts at IDS and has been in XR for education and training for 30 years.) The talk will include detail in the human factors and instructional design that goes into the work. We’ll have several headsets, where you can see some of the XR applications we are using.
We apologize for the change but hope you will still join us for a fun and educational evening!
As always, we will be live streaming the event for those who can't join in person https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88637878009?pwd=ZHhsOGpWVG9sTWFzenJ4Wm9lMXA1UT09
Post-talk some members will be walking to a local restaurant/bar after the event and is open for those who want to join.
We look forward to seeing you!
