Speaker: Nathan C, Scaniverse Social Media & Insights

Abstract:

Since the release of the seminal research paper in just 2023, a novel 3D file type, 3D Gaussian Splatting, has become one of the most beloved and hyped developments in the worlds of machine learning and 3D graphics.
These high-fidelity, low-weight 3D images are primed to make creating 3D games, AR apps, and fully immersive VR experiences — faster, more vivid, and more accessible to newcomers.
Join the Boston VR meetup and Scaniverse’s Nathan C. to learn more about 3D Gaussian Splatting, it’s applications in Gaming, XR, travel, and beyond, and how you can start creating your own 3D splats with Niantic Scaniverse’s mobile first workflows.
We’ll have some Quest headsets on-hand to explore the recently announced Into The Scaniverse web XR app that allows you to dive into the world largest collection of 3D Splats and explore them on a Meta Quest 3/3s.

Try it today in your Quest Browser at intothescaniverse.com .
