Watertown Public Library, Room: Lucia Mastrangelo Meeting Room
Description:
This event is run though the Boston Virtual Reality Meetup Group. This month John Gagan will demonstrate organic modeling by showing us how to sculpt a mushroom in Blender. First we will create a base mesh using primitives and modify it using tools such as the "loop cut and slide" tool. Then it is time to sculpt! But before diving into sculpting, we will discuss sculpting basics. We will then sculpt the mushroom by using sculpting tools such as the "draw" and "grab" brushes, and we will use the "lattice" modifier to adjust the shape of the mushroom. We will make both a low poly and high poly version of the mushroom. We will duplicate the mushroom and place the mushrooms in a simple landscape. Finally, we will add materials to the objects.
After the demo, people can collaborate and network.
John Gagan is a eight-year veteran in Blender 3D, four of which he spent as the head of the Boston Blender Group.
