Presentation: The design systems between us
In the early days, design systems promised us more consistent interfaces, more collaborative teams, and improved velocity. While they’ve delivered on some of those fronts, they’ve introduced new challenges too. Let’s talk through what’s working well—and what could be working better—as we take a closer look at the systems between us and our work.

Speaker: Ethan Marcotte
Ethan Marcotte is a designer, speaker, and author. Perhaps best known for creating responsive web design, he’s had the privilege of helping clients like New York Magazine, Adobe, and Google create better experiences for their users.

Ethan’s most recent book is You Deserve a Tech Union.

Whether you need help with a specific WordPress issue, want to contribute your knowledge to help others, or just want to listen & learn, this WordPress Help Desk is for you! Bring your laptop and WordPress challenges. Though the two-hour time limit means we may not solve every issue, we will try!

Come prepared with your website loaded, WordPress admin access ready, sites backed up, and a staging environment when possible. Since volunteers helping may not be experts, there's risk of breaking your site - please don't bring client or business sites that could impact revenue or reputation.
