Presentation 2: Implementing and Understanding Google Analytics for WordPress

In this talk, we will take a look at a quick overview of the Google Marketing platform and then look specifically at the Google Analytics tool and how it can be used to help understand how users interact with your WordPress sites. We're do a quick into to implementing Google Analytics using Google Tag Manager. After we have reviewed the setup steps, we'll take a look at some traffic and reports on a live site to get an understand of how this information can be used to make informed decisions about content, function, and design.

Ed is the President and Founder of the Beacon Agency, a marketing agency based in Houston that provides marketing, advertising, and technology products and services to small businesses across the country. Beacon specializes in helping local small businesses and e-commerce stores attract and convert more leads. We're focused on relationship building with our clients and providing a data-first approach to decision making and our recommendations.

Outside of Beacon, Ed provides business and nonprofit consulting in the areas of business process, sales, marketing, and technology. He is an active outdoorsman and can often be found fishing, kayaking, and camping. He is a digital nomad, and travels around the US by RV in search of beautiful sights, speaking engagements, WordCamps, and outdoor adventures. Ed is a philanthropist and serves on the board of several nonprofits and associations. He is a proud and active alumnus of the University of Miami and the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
