Lone Writer: When You're the Only Tech Writer

Details
Being a technical writer at a big company usually means working as part of a team of several writers. This session, we’ll look at the other extreme: being a solo writer. Some topics we might cover:
- Our experiences as lone writers
- How it compares to working on a writing team
- Start-ups vs. established companies that remain small
- The many hats a lone writer wears
- Navigating your organization
- Strategies, from establishing and maintaining processes to editing without an editor
- Finding community beyond your organization
Note that we will be taking August off for vacation. We’ll return in September with a focused conversation on job hunting.
We follow the Write the Docs Code of Conduct.
We'll use Zoom for this meetup. Register to receive the Zoom link here in the event description. Then, when you log in to Zoom for the event, be sure that your Zoom name matches the name you used in your registration.
