Tim Baggs will present and discuss Azure edge computing strategy, platforms and capabilities that can be used for creating smart edge applications. During this session we’ll explore Azure IoT Edge, Cognitive edge services & Data Box Edge. Tim will showcase various edge devices including development boards, cameras and smart robots.

ABOUT

Timothy is the Chief Technical Architect at Microsoft’s Technology Center in Burlington, Massachusetts. In his current role Timothy spends much of his time interfacing with Microsoft customers understanding the industry, economic and technological challenges facing today’s global enterprise. Armed with data and insights, He is responsible for developing and delivering strategic change programs both inside and outside of Microsoft to address the ever-evolving forces affecting organizations. His current role evolved from many years spent delivering software and hardware platforms for some of the largest organizations in the Fortune 100.

In 2001 Timothy joined Microsoft as an Engineering & Development Lead. Today, he continues working in the field with customers and partners to craft innovation, engineering and leadership programs in the areas of cloud computing, DevOps, Holographic & virtual reality, cognitive computing & IoT.

He is a frequent presenter at various technology and business events and is co-founder of The Maker Mill, a makerspace and STEAM enrichment center for children K-12 in the Merrimac Valley.
