As we all know cloud comes with a cost. And to keep these costs into control can be a challenge, especially when your cloud landscape gets more complex over time: from multiple subscriptions to multi-tenant or even multi-cloud ecosystems.

In this talk I show you how we approached this problem by automatically retrieving all cost data via API into one database and then visualize the data in Grafana.

With this centralized approach we are able to quickly react to unexpected cost increases and to pro-actively advise our end-users on the financial impact of the technical decisions made.
By sharing these dashboards within the company, we improve our transparency and thereby enforcing trust.
