You've heard of the game Halo? You know, the first-person shooter video game - the one that's sold 50 million copies worldwide? Did you know it is now backed by the Azure cloud? Come hear about that, but the story here is much bigger than how Halo uses Azure. Hear about the real-world architectural challenge that Halo was facing - for which Azure didn't have a solution - and how a Microsoft Research project called Orleans came to the rescue - and in the process became a new Azure service. Believe me, you *do* want to know about Orleans because it will shape how your future applications will be architected.

Come learn from Hoop Somuah (@hoopsomuah (https://twitter.com/hoopsomuah)), Services Architect from Microsoft subsidiary 343 Industries, makers of Halo as he dishes about Azure, scalability, architecture - and the backstory with Halo and Azure.

Boston Azure is the oldest Azure-focused user group in the world. This month marks 5 years since our first meeting - so we'll also bring a birthday cake!

Meeting Site Information

NERD (our host) requires all attendees identify themselves on their way into the building with government-issued identification.

Currently looks like we will be on first floor - one up from street level. This may change up to last minute, so please be sure to check the room when signing in at the security desk.
