Interested in building real-time applications for Big Data? If so, come learn about how to use Appscale, Eucalyptus, R, and Apache Accumulo to build powerful, scalable, and secure real-time applications.

You must sign up here to reserve a spot at this event: (

Eucalyptus allows you to build production-ready, AWS-compatible private and hybrid clouds by leveraging your existing virtualized infrastructure to create on-demand cloud resource pools. These highly elastic pools can be dynamically scaled up or down as your application workloads change.

AppScale is an open source runtime system for scalable web and mobile endpoints. AppScale significantly simplifies app implementation and deployment for developers by decoupling apps from the common services modern apps require. Apps access services via well-defined APIs. The AppScale platform implements, configures, deploys, and scales these services along with the apps so developers don’t have to.

Sqrrl enables organizations to build real-time Big Data applications (Big Apps) using a secure, massively scalable data platform powered by Apache Accumulo.

Hi Yiyu - We would be happy to dive deeper into our Lucene and Accumulo integration at the next one. One of the interesting things that we have done is integrate JSON + Lucene + SQL queries + cell-level security.

Thanks a lot for organizing this meetup. In the presentation about accumulo, I see the lucene is mentioned on the slides. That could be interesting topic about "real time application" development. Can the next presentation discusses more on detailed about this topic. I see Honton does some work on integrating Solr with hadoop. What happens in sqrrl or Accuulo?

    Thanks again for the presentations!
