What we’re about

We are not currently accepting new members but that is a temporary situation.

Boston Paranormal Investigators was formed in March, 2006 to promote research into all aspects of the paranormal; hauntings, UFOs, parapsychology, and other topics that fit under this umbrella. Members enjoy the following benefits:

* Structured field investigations
* Monthly meetings for planning and reporting
* Assistance in conducting individual investigations
* Examination/peer reviewing of evidence
* Online repository for written reports and collected evidence

We also focus on educating the general public by lecturing, contributing to films, podcasts, or books, and participating in local conventions and fundraising events.

We take a scientific approach and try to find natural explanations for reported phenomena, while keeping an open mind. Additionally, we attempt to capture verifiable evidence using such tools as Infrared camcorders, EMF meters, Ambient Temperature Sensors, REM Pods, Static Field Meters, Digital Recorders, Thermal Imaging Cameras, Spirit Box/Frequency Sweepers, Motion Sensors, Digital Cameras, and similar technologies. In addition, we recognize the complementary value of psychics, sensitives, mediums, and others, and welcome their assistance. Our members have been featured on SyFy's Ghost Hunters and on the Biography Channel.

Active members must reside within the metropolitan Boston area and are expected to contribute $5 monthly dues. Dues are necessary in order to purchase equipment and supply deposits for fee-based investigations.

No previous experience required, just a serious interest in the paranormal and a commitment to attend monthly meetings and investigations. If you want to ask a question, arrange for a speaker or presentation, or request help with a haunting, please message Laura or Barry directly on Meetup.
