Project Night

thoughtbot

Project Night is a free-form event where you can meet, socialize, and collaborate on projects with other members of Boston's Ruby and Rails communities! Rubyists of all levels are welcome and encouraged to attend. • If you're an experienced developer, you'll have a chance to meet others, and catch up on the latest Ruby and Rails tech. • If you're new to development, we'll have people there who can get you up and running and show you the ropes. Even if you haven't installed Ruby yet, bring your laptop and we'll send you home with a fully functional Ruby and Rails development environment! If you have an idea for a short presentation or workshop you'd like to do at Project night, please send an email to [masked]! We will have a greeter to let you into the building from 5:45pm to 6:45pm. If you arrive after that, post a message here or message us on the slack group and someone can go down to let you in. We'd also like to thank thoughtbot (https://thoughtbot.com) for providing us with food, drinks, and their space.

June Meeting

ezCater

Hi, everyone! For our June meeting, Michael Durrant will be talking about code quality. We have room for a second talk, so if you've got something you'd like to speak about, submit your talk to us at https://www.papercall.io/bostonrb and we'll get you scheduled. (We also like to have a number of talks in the pipeline, so please feel free to submit your talk now for a future meeting!) Michael Durrant https://sqa.stackexchange.com/users/8992/michael-durrant https://twitter.com/durrantm Quality Ruby Code => Less Bugs Todays mantra about quality code is all about tests. However - remember the maxim - tests only reveal quality - they do not improve it! Therefore it is important to know techniques that will actually improve application (and automation) code itself. Outside of those essential tests of course! Schedule: * 6:00pm - Eat, mingle * 6:20pm - Talks begin Thanks to ezCater (https://www.ezcater.com/) for sponsoring food and space for this Meetup! Sean, Colin, Kevin, Peter, Robert, and John
