What we’re about
Hi! We organize Boston-area events for enthusiasts of the Rust programming language, for every level of expertise from total beginner to seasoned Rustacean.
Rust is a user-friendly low-level programming language with a focus on security, reliability, and concurrency, while providing extreme performance in memory usage and execution speed.
We have two kinds of regular events: every week we have casual lunchtime get-togethers at a wide variety of locations in the Boston area, and once in a while we'll have a major evening event with catering and live presentations.
If you'd like to chat or get in touch with us, please join the Rust East Coast Discord server and find us in the #in-boston channel, or feel free to message the organizers here on Meetup directly.
All Boston Rust events are governed by the Rust Code of Conduct.

- Evening Boston Rust Meetup with Bevy and Isograph, September 30Remark, Boston, MA
Join us for an evening of Rust-related revelry, food, and talks on Bevy and Isograph!
DATE: Tuesday, September 30.
LOCATION: Remark's offices at 285 Summer Street, Boston. After entering the building, the event space is in the first office on the right, Suite 101.
SCHEDULE: Doors open at 5:30 for carousing and food; talks to begin at 6:30; free time to mingle and share from 7:30 to 8:30.
Our two speakers:
Robert Balicki will present about rewriting the Isograph compiler from a batch compiler to an incremental compiler, and how that new architecture also naturally powers the language server. Isograph is an open-source framework for writing data-driven apps that are stable and performant out of the box. Join the discord.
Miles Silberling-Cook will be talking about how Bevy leverages Rust's aliasing rules to parallelize games, and how Bevy is trying to bridge the comparability gap between futures and parallel iterators with its new low-latency work scheduling library.
OTHER EVENTS: We host regular lunches all throughout the Boston/Cambridge/Somerville area. We also do occasional large evening events as well as small weekend hack-togethers. Check out our Upcoming Events page to find out more!
