Join us for an evening of Rust-related revelry, food, and interesting talks, hosted by Remark!

WHEN: Thursday, January 22.

WHERE: Remark's offices at 285 Summer Street, Boston, convenient to South Station. After entering the building, the event space is in the first office on the right, Suite 101.

SCHEDULE: Doors open at 5:30 for carousing and food; talks to begin at 6:30; free time to mingle and share from 7:30 to 8:30.

Our speakers:

Andrew Gallant (author of ripgrep and the regex crate) will be presenting Jiff, a somewhat new datetime library for Rust inspired by Javascript's modern Temporal datetime API.

James Logan will be giving a lightning talk on the performance engineering techniques that allow InterpN's state-of-the-art numerical interpolation methods to achieve up to 250x speedup over SciPy entirely in safe, single-threaded Rust.

Colton Loftus will be giving a lightning talk on the low level accessibility stack on Linux, how Rust is helping to solve its historical challenges, and ways you can leverage Rust to make your own assistive technology software or accessible desktop applications.

MORE EVENTS: We host regular lunches (see the map above for the spot nearest to you), weekend hackathons, and large evening meetups. See our events page!

CONNECT: To chat with others in the group, join us in the #in-boston channel on the Rust East Coast Discord.

Looking forward to seeing you! 🦀
