Key 2, The High Priestess. The Uniting Intelligence.

Arriving at St Mark's Church: Please enter from the north parking lot, behind the church, at the door nearest the parking lot. Look for signs saying “B.O.T.A. Meeting.”
If the door is locked, ring the white doorbell and someone will let you in.
Take the first stairway up to the 2nd floor and the meeting space will be the first door on your left. If you need an elevator, ring the doorbell and someone will lead the way.

As we meet this month near the heart of the autumnal equinox, we are likely to get some help in our appreciation of periodicity and change through our focus on Key 2, The High Priestess. While the figure in this Key is a virginal woman, this image is pregnant with meaning. Included among the various correspondences of Key 2 are the function of memory, receptivity, duality, polarity, the astrological attribution of the Moon, the pair of opposites Peace and Strife, and the universal substance of mind represented by water. In addition, this key is fundamental in helping us develop an understanding of our three-fold consciousness.

As usual, we will begin with a presentation of a reading on Key 2 from Jason Lotterhand’s book The Thursday Night Tarot. This will be followed by a group discussion of our impressions and thoughts on The High Priestess, and how she operates in our day to day experience. We will close with a recorded meditation on the Hebrew letter Gimel from The Book of Tokens, read by Ann Davies.
